Adil Jussawalla

Born in Bombay in 1940, Adil Jussawalla has been a lecturer at St Xavier’s College, Bombay, the literary editor of various magazines and newspapers, and has edited an anthology titled New Writing in India (1974). He is the author of five books of poems. His third, Trying to Say Goodbye, was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award for an outstanding work of literature in 2014. Maps for a Mortal Moon (Aleph, 2014) is a volume of some of his prose, selected and edited by Jerry Pinto, and I Dreamt a Horse Fell from the Sky (Hachette, 2015) is a book of his poems, fiction and nonfiction (1962-2015).
