Rajesh Sharma

An essayist, critic and translator, Rajesh Sharma is the author of In/disciplines: Notes on Politics, Education and Culture (2014), Blood Flowers: Selected Poetry of Harbhajan Singh Hundal (2015; with Alpna Saini), Kavita da Samaa (The Time of Poetry, 2016), Maps of the Impossible: Six Contemporary Hindi Poets (2019), and Mauji Parindey (a translation of Rabindranath Tagore’s Stray Birds into Punjabi, 2020). His work has appeared in BrevityFilm PhilosophyTangentiumWorld Literature TodayChandrabhagaBiblio, the Book ReviewEconomic and Political WeeklyMainstream, and the Wire, in addition to various reputed academic journals and newspapers. He co-edited South Asian Ensemble: A Canadian-Indian Quarterly of Literature and the Arts for ten years. He teaches literary theory, modern European fiction, modern world poetry, and film studies. He is currently Professor and Head, Department of English, Punjabi University, Patiala.
