Frequently Asked Questions
QUESTIONS
-
How can I submit my poetry for consideration? You can submit your poetry through our website or by mail. Please follow the guidelines listed on our submissions page to ensure that your work is considered.
-
Will you consider previously published poems? We prefer unpublished work, but we will consider poems previously published in journals and magazines if they meet our submission guidelines and are still under the author's control.
-
How are poets compensated for their work?We offer a standard royalty agreement for our poets, which includes a percentage of books sales. Additionally, poets receive copies of the book for their personal use.
-
How long does it take for you to review a submission? Our review process can take up to several months. We receive a high volume of submissions and carefully consider each one. We appreciate your patience.
-
How can I purchase books from your press? You can purchase books directly from our website, through online retailers such as Amazon, or at your local bookstore.
-
Do you publish collections or individual poems? We publish only collections.
-
What rights do you acquire when publishing a poet’s work?We acquire first Indian serial rights, meaning we have the right to publish the poem for the first time in India. After that, the rights revert back to the poet.
-
Do you offer any workshops or events for poets? We periodically offer workshops and events for poets. Please check our website or social media channels for updates on upcoming events.
-
What types of poetry do you publish? We publish a variety of poetry styles, except limericks. An occasional sonnet, villanelle, sestina, quatrain or ghazal in a book of poems is welcome, but we usually desist from publishing a manuscript that favours a single style. We are always looking for unique and diverse voices in the poetry community. If you are not an avid reader of contemporary world poetry, then we are unlikely to publish you.
-
Do you offer any feedback on submissions?Unfortunately, we are unable to offer personalised feedback on all submissions due to the high volume of entries we receive.
